Hailey Elementary was awarded funding for dog training and insurance for one of the two therapy dogs (Bernie and Oscar) as a part “Comet Care Crew” Team. Dog training and a regular presence of/interactions with the dogs on campus will allow students of Hailey Elementary to calm unregulated behavior and gradually develop effective coping skills.
Idaho Base Camp was granted funds for a pollination project, which includes a hive, a queen and children’s protective bee-keeping suits for the spring. Pollinator garden bed to help the bees thrive and other necessary supplies to have full student participation. The IBC programs have been teaching over 300 children the importance of healthy eating, source of food and how to be sustainable through growing the food, through gardening at the Bellevue Campus.
