The BCRD is grateful for the support of the Papoose Club to bring a revitalized Aquatic Center to the residents and visitors of Blaine County. In 1985, the BCRD constructed the Aquatic Center in Hailey, Idaho. The original facility included an outdoor lap swimming pool and bathhouse. More than 30 years later, the BCRD Aquatic Center remains the sole public aquatics facility directly serving the Idaho communities of Hailey and Bellevue. The facility receives more than 22,000 visits each year during its three months of operation, offering patrons a safe, accessible and affordable place to enjoy swimming instruction, swim team competition, lap swimming, aqua-aerobics, and leisure swimming. With the support of the community, the BCRD launched the Aquatic Center Revitalization project to answer the community’s need for aquatic opportunities. Through this key project, the BCRD will restore and expand the vital facility, will teach over 675 kids to swim each year, will ensure affordable aquatic opportunities where they are most needed and will meet the needs of its growing community.
